Never Back Down a modern day Karate Kid?



Movie Room Reviews recently posted its review of July 29th DVD release Never Back Down, which features a brilliant young cast and an eerily similar storyline to that of the classic 1984 movie Karate Kid, which starred Ralph Maccio, Elizabeth Shue and Pat Morita. The parallels are unmistakable but the action, music, and intensity of Never Back is certainly more modernized, including the underground world of Mixed Martial Arts, which makes the basic karate learned by Daniel LaRusso seem tame.
